Course Description:

The AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) New Provider Course is tailored for healthcare providers seeking comprehensive training in managing pediatric emergencies. Through interactive lessons, simulations, and case scenarios, participants acquire essential skills in pediatric assessment, intervention strategies, and effective team collaboration. Successful completion results in certification, attesting to proficiency in providing advanced life support to pediatric patients.

Students must successfully complete a cardiac core case scenario, shock or respiratory core case scenario, child & infant BLS CPR with AED skills test and score an 84% minimum on the written exam to successfully complete the course.

• BLS refresher for children and infants
• Basic and advanced airways
• Chest Compression Fraction
• The Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT)
• EZ IO drill
• Review of how to interpret ECG rhythms
• Respiratory emergencies

• Tachyardia algorithm
• Bradycardia algorithm
• Cardiac arrest algorithm
• ROSC
• High Performance Teams
• Megacode practice and debriefings

Course Duration: Up to 9 Hours. 1-hour lunch break included.

Certification: Successful completion of this course provides a 2 year, AHA PALS Provider certificate.  

Requirements:

1. Pre-test completion with a passing score of at least 70% prior to the day of class. A pre-test link with instructions will be emailed to you after purchase. 
   
   
2. The AHA requires you to have a provider manual for class. It must be the most current version with 2020 guidelines. If you have one already, you may bring it to class or you can purchase one by choosing from the following purchase options:
    
   1. Ebook: Ebook products are digital versions of the provider manuals. They are purchased directly through the AHA website and give you the option to access your manual immediately after purchase once uploaded to your device.
