ACLS Provider Skills Session         

 

Course Description

The AHA ACLS Heartcode course offers healthcare professionals a convenient and flexible way to master Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support skills. Through online modules and simulations, participants learn crucial aspects of systematic assessment, intervention strategies, and team dynamics in managing adult cardiovascular emergencies. Successful completion results in certification, validating proficiency in advanced cardiac life support techniques. 

2 Part Completion Requirements

  • Part 1: Complete the online, eLearning course. (REQUIRED)
    • This course takes about 2-5 hours to complete and is self-paced. It may be stopped and started anytime until completed
  • Part 2: Complete the hands on, skills practice/testing session at our office. 
    • Anticipate up to 1 hour time to complete this portion of the course. 
    • You will be tested on:
      • Megacode Scenario
      • Basic airway station
      • Adult BLS skills

 

Certification

Completion of this online course with skills session will provide an AHA ACLS Provider, Heartcode with instructor eCard that is valid for 2 years from the date of completion.

BLS Certification Skills Session for Heartcode - (Part 2) 

Location: 2114 Riverside dr. Ste. 207, Mount Vernon, WA 98273

Course Description:The AHA BLS Heartcode is an online training program offered by the American Heart Association (AHA) that focuses on Basic Life Support (BLS) skills. It is designed to provide healthcare professionals and individuals with comprehensive knowledge and practical training in life-saving techniques such as CPR, use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and management of choking incidents.

Participants can conveniently learn and practice these crucial skills through interactive modules and simulations, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.

 

Scheduling: Please email us at support@firstrescuecpr.com with 3 dates that work best for you to come in and do your skills session. We'll match whats available or send you some different dates that are similar for you to choose. We schedule classes anyday of the week, 8am-6pm. We respond quickly. (Usually within an hour). You are welcome to check our schedule first before registering if you prefer.

Reminder that this course has a 2 Part Completion Requirement:

  • Part 1: Complete the online, eLearning course. (REQUIRED)
    • This course takes about 2 hours to complete and is self-paced. It may be stopped and started anytime until completed.
    • You may purchase this course which is sold separately for $36 through the AHA. CLICK HERE to purchase the course directly from the AHA website. 
      • You must complete part 1 before completing part 2. You may register for your skills session now but cannot complete it until part 1 is finished first. 
  • Part 2: Complete the hands on, skills practice/testing session at our office. 
    • Anticipate up to 1 hour time to complete this portion of the course. 
    • You will be tested on Adult CPR with AED and Infant CPR both 1 and 2-rescuer.

Certification

Completion of this online course with skills session will provide an AHA BLS Provider, Heartcode with instructor eCard that is valid for 2 years from the date of completion.

This course will cover:

  • Strokes and heart attacks

  • Chest compressions: review of rate, depth, and ratio for all ages

Health and Saftey Institute First Aid Course                                

Course Description:

A Health and Safety Institute (HSI) First Aid course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in various emergency situations. The course covers essential first aid techniques, including assessing and responding to injuries, managing medical emergencies. Participants learn how to recognize and respond to common injuries such as burns, cuts, and fractures, as well as how to assist someone who is choking. The goal of the First Aid course is to empower individuals to take prompt and effective action in emergencies, potentially saving lives until professional medical help arrives.

Course Duration: 2 Hours

Certification: Successful completion of this course provides a 2 year, HSI First Aid certificate.

AHA First Aid Skills Session

This American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid Skills Session is the hands-on portion required to complete your certification after finishing the online AHA Heartsaver® First Aid course. During this instructor-led session, you'll demonstrate key first aid skills, including how to respond to common medical emergencies. Completion results in an official AHA course completion card, valid for two years.

Prerequisite: Completion of the AHA Heartsaver® First Aid Online Course (Part 1).

Completion of this course produces the following certificate:

 

 

Geting Started: 

 

  1. Step 1: Click here to purchase and complete the AHA Heartsaver® First Aid Online Course (Part 1) through the AHA website.

  2. Step 2: Come back here to purchase Part 2: the in-person Skills Session. You don’t need to finish Part 1 before buying Part 2. You'll just need to be sure it’s done before your scheduled session.

    (If you want to double-check that we have dates that work for you before purchasing, reach out to us anytime. We’re happy to help you find a session that fits your schedule before you commit).
  3. Step 3: After purchasing Part 2, we will contact you by the end of the following business day to schedule your session. You are welcome to email us first at support@firstrescuecpr.com if you prefer or its urgent. You’ll provide a few date options that work for you, we'll see what matches up to our schedule and get you confirmed.

  4. Step 4: Send in your online course completion certificate to our office email mentioned above or bring a paper copy of it with you to class when you come in to do your skills session.

 

During your in-person session, you’ll get hands-on practice and be tested on the following 4 skills:

  • Putting on and safely removing gloves.

  • Assessing the scene, ruling out cardiac arrest and discovering injuries.

  • Controlling bleeding.

  • Using an epinephrine auto-injector (like an EpiPen).

You'll have pleny of opportunity to ask any questions and review with the instructor before being tested!

 

 

 

HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED                                    

Course Description:

The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric CPR and First Aid course is designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to respond effectively in pediatric medical emergencies. This course covers essential techniques for providing CPR, first aid, and choking relief to infants and children. 

Recommended for: Parents, babysitters, daycare centers, preschools and school bus drivers. This course is not for healthcare providers and will not satisfy healthcare worker BLS requirements. 

This course will cover:

  • CPR for all ages including Adult
  • Overview of AED for all ages
  • Choking emergencies
  • Pediatric First Aid topics will include the following. 
    • Wound Care: Learn to clean, dress, and bandage wounds to prevent infection and promote healing.  
    • Burns: Understand different degrees of burns and how to treat them appropriately, including cooling and covering the burn.
    • Fractures and Sprains: Learn to immobilize fractures and provide basic care for sprains and strains.
    • Shock: Understand the signs and symptoms of shock and how to help stabilize a victim.
    • Allergic Reactions: Recognize severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and administer epinephrine (if applicable).
    • Heat and Cold Emergencies: Learn to recognize and manage heat-related illnesses (heatstroke, heat exhaustion) and hypothermia.
