ACLS Provider Skills Session         

 

Course Description

The AHA ACLS Heartcode course offers healthcare professionals a convenient and flexible way to master Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support skills. Through online modules and simulations, participants learn crucial aspects of systematic assessment, intervention strategies, and team dynamics in managing adult cardiovascular emergencies. Successful completion results in certification, validating proficiency in advanced cardiac life support techniques. 

2 Part Completion Requirements

  • Part 1: Complete the online, eLearning course. (REQUIRED)
    • This course takes about 2-5 hours to complete and is self-paced. It may be stopped and started anytime until completed
  • Part 2: Complete the hands on, skills practice/testing session at our office. 
    • Anticipate up to 1 hour time to complete this portion of the course. 
    • You will be tested on:
      • Megacode Scenario
      • Basic airway station
      • Adult BLS skills

 

Certification

Completion of this online course with skills session will provide an AHA ACLS Provider, Heartcode with instructor eCard that is valid for 2 years from the date of completion.

ACLS Renewal                                                                                                                                                                                

Course Description:

The AHA ACLS Renewal course provides healthcare professionals with an efficient pathway to refresh and update their Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support skills. Designed for those who have previously been certified in ACLS, this course focuses on reviewing essential assessment, intervention, and team coordination techniques for adult cardiovascular emergencies. Successful completion renews certification, ensuring continued proficiency in advanced cardiac life support.

Students must successfully complete a megacode station, airway station, adult BLS CPR with AED skills refreshere and score an 84% minimum on the written exam to successfully complete the course. 

This course will cover:

  • Chest Compression Fraction
  • Acute Coronary Syndromes

Course Duration: Up to 6 Hours.  

Certification: Successful completion of this course provides a 2 year, AHA ACLS Provider certificate.  

Requirements:

  1. Pre-test completion with a passing score of at least 70% prior to the day of class. A pre-test link with instructions will be emailed to you after purchase. 

  2. The AHA requires you to have a provider manual for class. It must be the most current version with 2020 guidelines. If you have one already, you may bring it to class or you can purchase one by choosing from the following purchase options:
     
    1. Ebook: Ebook products are digital versions of the provider manuals. They are purchased directly through the AHA website and give you the option to access your manual immediately after purchase once uploaded to your device.

Optional BLS Add-on

AHA provides an option for students completing advanced course renewals such ACLS or PALS to renew their BLS certification on the sme day. This permits the student from needing to come in on a separate day or sit through an entire BLS class to renew their cert before it expirese. 

If you have a current BLS card (It must be current and not expired), you have the option to renew it on the same day you complete your ACLS or PALS renewal. To do so, select "BLS Add-on" below and pay the additional registration fee of $25. Your instructor will go over the BLS skills with you and test you on all the BLS skills test. You must also take a BLS written exam. These will be done on the same day you are scheduled for your renewal. To qualify, you must send us a copy of your current BLS card. If it is expired, you must retake a separate BLS course on a different day.

BLS Certification Skills Session for Heartcode - (Part 2 of 2)

Course Description:The AHA BLS Heartcode is an online training program offered by the American Heart Association (AHA) that focuses on Basic Life Support (BLS) skills. It is designed to provide healthcare professionals and individuals with comprehensive knowledge and practical training in life-saving techniques such as CPR, use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and management of choking incidents.

Participants can conveniently learn and practice these crucial skills through interactive modules and simulations, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.

 

Scheduling: Please email us at support@firstrescuecpr.com with 3 dates that work best for you to come in and do your skills session. We'll match whats available or send you some different dates that are similar for you to choose. We schedule classes anyday of the week, 8am-6pm. We respond quickly. (Usually within an hour). You are welcome to check our schedule first before registering if you prefer.

 

Reminder that this course has a 2 Part Completion Requirement:

  • Part 1: Complete the online, eLearning course. (REQUIRED)

Health and Saftey Institute First Aid Course                                

Course Description:

A Health and Safety Institute (HSI) First Aid course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively in various emergency situations. The course covers essential first aid techniques, including assessing and responding to injuries, managing medical emergencies. Participants learn how to recognize and respond to common injuries such as burns, cuts, and fractures, as well as how to assist someone who is choking. The goal of the First Aid course is to empower individuals to take prompt and effective action in emergencies, potentially saving lives until professional medical help arrives.

Course Duration: 2 Hours

Certification: Successful completion of this course provides a 2 year, HSI First Aid certificate.

HeartSaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED                                    

Course Description:

The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric CPR and First Aid course is designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to respond effectively in pediatric medical emergencies. This course covers essential techniques for providing CPR, first aid, and choking relief to infants and children. 

Recommended for: Parents, babysitters, daycare centers, preschools and school bus drivers. This course is not for healthcare providers and will not satisfy healthcare worker BLS requirements. 

This course will cover:

  • CPR for all ages including Adult
  • Overview of AED for all ages
  • Choking emergencies
  • Pediatric First Aid topics will include the following. 
    • Wound Care: Learn to clean, dress, and bandage wounds to prevent infection and promote healing.  
    • Burns: Understand different degrees of burns and how to treat them appropriately, including cooling and covering the burn.
    • Fractures and Sprains: Learn to immobilize fractures and provide basic care for sprains and strains.
    • Shock: Understand the signs and symptoms of shock and how to help stabilize a victim.
